Since their arrival in 1958 the IBM Hursley Park Development Laboratory has been at the heart of innovation. Continuing the engineering tradition that Supermarine began IBM has developed world leading products in both hardware and software.

Although the role(s) taken on by the Laboratory have changed over the decades to reflect the changing business environment the Lab's success has been nothing short of remarkable. Few would ever know that much of both the hardware and software that is at the heart of the World's businesses is not simply IBM but IBM Hursley.
From the moment a card is entered into an ATM to the point the transaction is processed and data stored Hursley products are involved: the ATM itself, the software that processes the transaction, the mainframe that processes the request and the storage where the data is kept ... at every stage Hursley has played and continues to evolve to continue to play a part. A success reflected in the number of patents regularly filed by the many employees.
